The quarries of Chambralles, listed by the "Commission des monuments et sites" (Commission of monuments and sites) form a unity of exceptional and wild beauty.
There you can observe on the rocky faces interesting geological phenomenons.
Traces of a storm from 300 millions years are side by side with fossils of shells and plants.
These ranges of vertical sandstone are called "tartines" (slices of bread).
